While I’ve been a psychotherapist for many years, imbedded in my years of work has been a conscious connection to the subtle levels of energy that exist, knowing, as quantum physics states, that everything is made of energy. Putting this understanding into action, I now offer my services as an Integrative Energy Practitioner. This deep, profound, and exciting work elegantly and seamlessly integrates into all of my previous training, and I now offer several energy-oriented methods and self-help techniques within the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Matrix Reimprinting, Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Eden Energy Medicine, andChakra Balancing.
I am a Diplomate of Comprehensive Energy Psychology (DCEP), a Certified Eden Energy Medicine practitioner (EEM-CP), and I have a master's degree in counseling/psychology from Springfield College. For more than 20 years I have been certified in psychosynthesis, a transpersonal approach to counseling that has deeply and profoundly influenced my work and my worldview. I have studied dance therapy, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, and sensorimotor psychotherapy, as well as other body-based modalities. I have worked with clients in both private and community mental health settings, and for nine years I was the Director of the Counseling Center at Elms College in Chicopee, MA. I have extensive experience with LGBT populations, and I welcome clients of all sexual orientations and gender expressions. In addition to a daily energy self-care routine, I love Zumba, the coast of Maine, working in my garden, and taking an active role in living a conscious, purposeful life. I am committed to meeting the challenges of life with compassion and curiosity, and I encourage and invite my clients to do the same.
Please be advised, although John Coan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he does not provide any psychotherapy services in his Integrative Energy practice.
